James David “Tree Top” Warren, 71, of Candler, died Monday, April 4, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital.
Mr. Warren was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Ulus and Malissie Brown Warren. He was an Army veteran and was retired from Enka/BASF.
He is survived by his wife Betty DeVore Warren; one daughter Fonda Gail Nichols and her husband John of Gastonia; two sons Davey Lee Warren and his friend Wendy of Candler and Billy Joe Warren and his wife Liddy of Candler; one sister Reva Smith of Candler; one brother Virgil Warren of Candler, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Ed Worley and Will Pruett officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
