Samuel Edgar “Sam” Griffin, 70, of 6 Comstock Crescent, Candler, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at his home.
Mr. Griffin was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Lonnie and Elsie Swayngim Griffin. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Joseph Edgar “Jo Jo” Griffin and Robert Wendell Griffin and a sister Virginia Smith. He was a retired auto mechanic.
Surviving are his daughters, Rebecca Jean Scroggs and her husband Terry of Sanford, FL, Sandy Batten, Mitzi Bradley and Sheri Anderson; his former wife Emma Jean Griffin of Candler; three sisters, Lillian Cooper of Candler, Elsie Morris and her husband Olin of Texas, and Sue Chancellor and her husband Reavis of Georgia; and two brothers, Gene Griffin and his wife Jane and Chat Griffin and his wife Evelyn, all of Candler.
A service of remembrance will be at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Pisgah View Memorial Park Mausoleum.
