Frank P. Hollifield, 82, of 32 Old Sardis Road Circle, Asheville, died Sunday, November 5, 2006, at the Hospice Solace Center.
Mr. Hollifield was born in York, SC, and was a son of the late T.J. Hollifield, Sr., and Harriett Cannon Hollifield. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Plonie Meadows, Ella Queen, Palestine Hollifield, Leo Grantham, Pauline Ramey and Grace Irene Hollifield, and by brothers Hubert, Lamar and T.J. Hollifield, Jr.
He was retired from ABF Trucking Company and was a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Cinderella Allen Hollifield; one daughter, Linda H. Smith and her husband, Steve, of Asheville; one son, Russell Hollifield and his wife, Rena, of Asheville; granddaughters Renee Burwell and her husband, Barry, of Asheville and Lisa Kirbo and her husband, Randy, of Arden; one grandson, Bryan Smith and his wife, Jo-Ann, of Candler; great-grandson, Patrick Burwell; great-granddaughters, Jamie Burwell and Gracie Smith; granddaughter Meghann Rice; one brother Horace Hollifield and his wife, Lucille, of Beltsville, MD, and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Sams officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
