Miss Ruth Irene King, 92, passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in Savannah, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Roscoe and Estelle Mae Hyatt King; sisters, Ethel Mae Cathey, Eva Little, and Mary Morris; and brothers Ransom, Charles, Roy, and Robert King. She is survived by four nephews and two nieces.
She was a native of Asheville, and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church until she moved to Savannah. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pooler, GA, and of the senior Sunday school class.
She was a good friend and loving aunt. Her wonderful smile and quick wit will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave, with the Rev. Donald N. Welborn officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 531 Haywood Rd., Asheville, NC 28806, or to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park #120, Asheville, NC 28801.
