Samuel Calvin Lockridge, 65, died on Monday, August 6, 2012, at his home in Swannanoa, NC.
He was a man who worked his whole life to provide for his family and served four years in the US Air Force.
Sam was born in Sharon, SC to the late Campbell and Elois Lockridge. He is survived by his wife, Joan Handler Lockridge; two sons, Samuel Christopher Lockridge of Acworth, GA, and Gabriel Thomas Lockridge of Swannanoa; two daughters, Jill Elizabeth Bates, and Samantha Noel Lockridge both of Atlanta, GA; and nine grandchildren, Lacee, Halle, Nathan, Chris Lockridge, Kaitlyn, Parker, and Carson Bates, Riley and Gabriel Lockridge.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church where he was a member. Reverend Father Frank Seabo will officiate and burial will be in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home, Tunnel Road.
