Melanie & Bobby,
Your family since the age of 4 has been my extended family. So many memories I have of Bob & Nancy, everyone a joy to remember. Well, maybe not the pancake one in Spartanburg. I loved your parents like my own. Any time I saw them, time had not passed, they smiled, hugged me, and genuinely cared. I miss all of you and hope you know how much I love you. Knowing Nancy & Bob are together again surely brings you comfort, just think what joy they have now.

Melanie and Bobby..
I just found out of your mothers passing. I can't believe it. Even though it's been a number of years since I saw Nancy last. It seems that it was only yesterday that she was chasing me up Grandview in the car... I'm sure Mel remembers that occassion.. we were just young teenagers..
Nancy was my 2nd mother when I was growing up. As Mel was my sister.
As many of the signings in this book state... She is now with your dad in heaven.. That should bring you much comfort..
Even though I don't see you both I think of you often and love you always... Stay strong and my inner peace always live within you.

I am very sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. She and I were classmates at Sand Hill High School, and I am glad to have seen her at our 50th reunion in 2002. She will be missed by all who knew her. My best wishes for her family.

Nancy was a special person with a big heart. A couple of Christmas Eve's ago she let me purchase her only and most rare, gloster canary to give to my mother for a last minute Christmas gift. In return I promised to bring him back to visit one day to have little glosters. She called a couple of months ago and we talked and was going to get together with our gloster canaries and also talk about selling a few little antiques at my antique shop but sadly I was never able to get back with her due to the flood ect. I was in shock to read about her in the paper and spent hours wishing that I could have gotton back in touch with her. My family and I will always have a special place for Nancy in our hearts whenever we look at our little gloster and our other 12 canaries that she brought into our home over the years. Our condolences and prayers go out to the family.

Melanie and Bobby, We know that you will miss your mother and father but know that they are in heaven with God. They are in a much better place and are waiting for you to join them one day. Nancy was such a sweet and loving person. We will never forget all
the hugs we had with her on Sunday morning. She was so thoughtful and knew that we collected coke stuff and would bring me somethings that Bob had. She said he worked for coke for many years. We will treasure them, and think of Nancy when we see them. We only knew your father for a short time. He was sick when we met him. The love that both of your parents had will long be remembered by all the members of Alexander Methodist Church. She always felt that we could all sing and would do her best to make us believe it too. We pray that God will bless you and your family during this time of sorrow. Just remember no more pain, no more suffering. She wanted to be with your dad. They will be watching you from heaven. They do not want you to grieve them but remember all the good times you had with them. If there is anything that we can do, please let us know. Please do not hesitate to come visit us at church. Be where your parents were loved.

Melanie and Bobby, you had the most wonderful mother, she was such a friend to me and we shared many a laugh while working together at Christmas time at Belk Store in the gift wrap department, of course I remember the days when we were neighbors in West Asheville on Carrier st. and Baker Place. Please know how special she was and now, how happy she is to be with your father in heaven, what a glorious reunion!! My sunday school class prayed for her last week for healing but we know now God had other plans. I will never forget the wonderful smile she always had here on earth and how she must be so joyful to be with our precious Lord-God Bless your family

We knew Nancy mainly through her music. I wish we could have gotten to know her as a woman. We have her love of birds in common. She will be missed.
Our condolences and prayers go out to all the family.

We are so sad to know that Nancy is gone. I know that she is happy to be with Bob, but she will be missed by so many. She was a wonderful neighbor to us many years ago and remained a good friend. Melanie and Bobby please know that Charlie and I will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Catherine

I wouldn't even know where to begin to say what Nancy meant to me. I loved her so much and she was like a Mother to me as well as one of my very best friends. Playing our piano/organ duets together at ACUMC was an honor for me as well as a lot of fun. Nancy and I laughed together and every Sunday we shared tangerine Altoids. Melanie and Bobby, I know you will miss her terribly and I know I will too but I know that she is in heaven with your Dad now. She missed him so much and now they're together again. Probably looking for a new place to eat out. Please know that I'm here for you and will do anything I can for you.

It was an honor to live next door to the Lee family, and how my daughter adored both Bob and Nancy...Zoe loved nothing better than to scamper next door for some warm cornbread and a visit to see the baby canaries with Nancy. I was sad when we outgrew the little house next door and had to move on...Nancy will be missed, just as we miss Bob. Our prayers are with their family.

Nancy, I was so glad to see you one last time Monday morning when you Bobby and Melanie came to your Dr's visit. I knew then you were slipping fast, but knowing of your faith in our Lord I was not sad. When I heard of your passing this afternoon, I instantly thought WOW your getting to see Jesus today! How beautiful that must be. I know that you and Bob are in heaven with my nanny (Norma) playing and singing sweet music. Bobby and Melanie be strong and know that you will see your parents again. We love you all.

To say you will be missed just isn't enough. Your generosity, helpfulness, understanding, smiling and laughing ways have made a mark on everyone who's life you have touched. To Melanie and Bobby, my
sincerest condolences. If she was half as amazing as a mother as she was a friend to this family you have been truly touched.
All our love,
