Deana and the Crisp family,
I was saddened to hear of Steve's passing. I worked with Steve for a number of years with General Cinema Theaters. He was always happy and had a great sense of hummer. Steve was a man who loved his family and it showed. I was truly blessed for having known Steve. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Dearest Janet and Dick and the Crisp Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Steve was a wonderful and gracious person, full of life and love. One of our most favorite memories of Steve was the fun we all had with him when we would gather at the Crisp house when it snowed and would slide down that treacherous hill. Steve was always there, having a grand time with everyone. He will be missed very, very much. Our prayers are with all of you. Please let us know if we can help you in any way. Love, Bonnie and Randall McCurry

Diana and Rhiannon -- Zeb and I are so sorry for your loss. What a good and noble man he was! Always there with a smile and good word; always proud of his family. We will miss him, but we will turn out eyes heavenward for the happy reunion that will come!

I was very sad to read about Steve's death. He was in my English class at East Yancey High School, and I remember what a sweet person he was. I'm sorry that I didn't know him in recent years, but I do remember his term paper topic: UFO's. He was really into his research, and I was very interested, too. What a loss to his family and friends! I am thinking of all of you and remembering you in my prayers. (Mr. and Mrs. Crisp, you raised a very fine son.)
Sincerely,
Thanna Davis

J. C. and Frances, please accept my sincere sympathy to your entire family on the death of Steve. Your loss has created an emptiness in your hearts. May your memories and the love you shared fill your hearts with joy and a new song. Sincerely, Millie Hudgins (Constance Crisp Perry's daughter)
Our Crisp family is a circle of strength and love. With every birth and every union, the circle grows. Every joy shared adds more love. Every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger.

Janet and other family members, Like Becky, I attended East Yancey High School with Steve (and Janet). My sweetest memory of Steve is as the violinist Hannibal in our senior drama, The Curious Savage. Although Hannibal only played beautifully in his own mind, his inner beauty allowed both the characters in the play and ultimately the entire audience to see him as perhaps God did, and truly appreciate the beautiful music that he created. A well remembered scene in the play involved telling others that you love them in subtle ways such as saying "Take an Unbrella, it's raining". Our year books are full of that line, and while it might leave others scratching their heads, we all understood. I never remember an unkind word escaping Steve's lips and he always had a smile for everyone. My prayers are with each of you because I know that you have lost a very special perosn. May God Bless and comfort you. And Steve. . . take and umbrella.

Dearest Rhiannon, Sweetie, always know that your Dad loved you so very much. It was obvious in the way that he was always there for you, always beside you, watching over you no matter where or what you were doing, cheering you on with a smile on his face. We know how very hard this is for you and Diana but please know that your Dad will always be there for you, resting at peace in your heart and your memories. He will always be watching over you and sending you hugs and love in the smallest of ways through the smiles and joys of your everyday walk through life. Although it may not seem possible, your grief will eventually diminish to be replaced by the joys that you both shared with your Dad and Husband. There will also be days that it will hit you full force again, just know that God's strength and Grace will bring you through it then as He will in the coming days and months. Our prayers are with you and we are so very sorry that you are having to go through this heartbreak. Our love to both of you as well to your other family members. May the breath of Heaven hold you together. All of our love, Rhonda, Jordan & David Puckett.

Janet and Dick we were so sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. It is always very difficult to lose a loved -one. We just have to have the faith that God has a better plan for Steve. Judy and I have you and all your family in our thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry we can't be with you and Dick during this time of grieving. We are at the beach and it is such a long haul that we decided we could be a support in other ways. We love you both very much and we will see you soon. Keep the faith and keep smiling.

Diana & Rhiannon - we are so sorry in your loss. We will miss Steve so very much. We enjoyed talking to him when we were all out in our yards doing our yard work and we know that he did not feel good but never complained and just kept on going on. He was so very pleasant and so nice to be around and above all - a very giving, thoughful neighbor. It is so hard for us to believe that he is gone and we don't know that we can over the fact that we will no longer see him across the street from us. To the entire Crisp family - you are in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Please let us know if there is anything we can do. Remember that we love you and are praying for God's Grace for you.

I graduated from East Yancey with Steve. What a super person he was way back then (1968). I send my sincere sympathy to you, his beloved family. May our Lord give you peace and grace for this deep valley of grief. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
